Scientists at Dartmouth have figured out why you secretly like Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone." Apparently there's a "brain itch" involved. Love that.
In other news, scientists at Ottawa's National Research Council have been investigating snow's unique acoustic properties. As a kid, I built "snow chairs" in my backyard after Buffalo blizzards and stared up at the puprle/orange night sky for as long as I could take the cold. Thus, I can independently confirm the special silence offered by fresh snow without equivocation: it's true!
