Back from Texas. It's been a long time; I shouldn'ta left you - without some, uh, internet shit to look at. Rest in peace, Aaliyah - and everyone gone. We miss you down here.
Start off this Monday morning with my man Ekstra touching up that Karen O / Spike Jonze Adidas joint. Very nice as we try to transition over to some sun here on the East Coast.
Speaking of, I missed this Grove story on these two getting together for more than just a meme. What happened to the dude from The Liars?
Even more tangentially, when I was in Texas, I met the aunt of one of Ms. O's high school friends. She told me a wild story about her niece and Karen coming to visit when they were 14. The fam went mountain biking; Karen loathed the great outdoors, but trooped along, ill-fitting bike helmet and all. Everything was cool until Karen flipped headfirst trying to bike through a creek, at which point she announced her resignation from the bike ride. Rather than riding further, Karen instead insisted on sitting quietly in the woods, listening to her Walkman and waiting for the group to return. I can dig it.
