Pinto Ron and Billsman
Billsman, who runs this website, went to the Bills game yesterday. Here's his rundown, with pictures:
It all started on Saturday night when I drove up to meet Pinto Ron aka Kenny at the hotel we were staying at, we downed some anti-freeze aka Brewskis and went to the Stadium and had some jello and pudding shots with more frosty beverages. The RV lot was quiet as it normally gets this time of year, but we had a nice surprise when we met Lee Evans Sr. there, nice guy and well grounded. We spoke and I told him of our site and wished his son good luck and we left for the hotel, about midnight.
4:15 rolls around and it's time to hit the shower and go to the stadium for the pre -tailgate party, yes you read that right, there's a pre-tailgate party that starts at 5am and goes until the gates open at 8am. I arrived in my Billsman Bus at 5 am sharp and was the first one there at the gate, located off the RT 20 entrance only by a mere 5 minutes as the rest of the die hards would arrive one by one in 2-6 minute increments. I was happy to beat my pal Pinto Ron aka Kenny by 10 minutes though hehehe.
Met up with some very cool people there in out pretailgate party only to carry the fun into the RWS lot at 8am. Anyone ever watch the INDY 500 where you see numerous cars take off at the start? Well, this happens at 8am! 3-4 lanes of cars/trucks, busses floor it to to claim their spot in the lat before someone else has a chance to take it. As it turns out, we landed our spot, as always and so does everyone else, if they get there early enough.
We cooked a Turkey on the pinto yesterday, followed by 20 pounds of wings, 3 pounds of cheese steaks, about 10 Pizzas, 30 pounds of instant potatoes, 10 cans of corn, beans, carrots, peas made up the center piece of the Pinto. We also had our usual bacon on the saw, potatoes and steak in the hub cap, omelettes and scrambled eggs on the shovel, burgers on the rake, beer in the toilet and of course, the bowling ball shots which I believe we went through 11 bottles of 100% Cherry Brandy.
As always, the hamburger ceremony started at about 11:15, where kenny asks for some ketchup and he gets doused with 1-2 bottles (64 oz. each)followed by mustard from the caulking gun. This is usually my favorite part as I get to douse my pal with 64 ounces of the red stuff hehehe.
The game was intense and loud, I sat with Scott the football helmet head painted guy in the front row of the end zone. Following the game we ate some of the turkey we cooked on the pinto, sat around the fire and enjoyed another brew or three until it was time to leave, I left at 8:30pm leaving a few of the Pinto crew guys in the lot.
Next week should be pretty much the same, 5am for the pretailgate party followed by more "activities" through the day.
