DUDES
YO! Just got back from New Zealand. Like just now. Yow.
We left at noon on Sunday New Zealand time: racing to Queenstown airport, remarkin on The Remarkables, gettin dismal text alerts from across the Pacific chronicling the Sabres' Game Two loss, end-of-period score updates trickling in before we boarded the first of three flights. Three? Yes: Queenstown-Auckland, Auckland-San Francisco, and then SFO-JFK, which arrived in rainy Brooklyn at around 1:30 AM this morning. And finally, after a concluding Chinatown bus jaunt, I'm home.
It was a lovely trip. I am lucky to have such fantastic relatives in such a beautiful corner of the world. Congrats Luc & Katie on a beautiful wedding!
Bunch of breathtakin NZ pictures coming soon; in the meantime, I'm gonna run down the street and grab some beers. Hopefully a couple of Yuenglings will help me use an ancient technique my Granma calls "powering" in order to help secure this pivotal Game Three for my goddamn Sabres:
