I can't believe these guys have been playing that song for over 25 years and aren't smart enough to tune up their bass/guitars in a critical situation. The backtrack wasn't just a "little bit" sharp- it was more than a whole SEMITONE sharp! (more than the distance from a white key to a black key on the piano, peoples) WHOA!!
So, the DAT was playing at 48Khz instead of 44.1khz. Hmmmm...that's an increase of 8.84%. Each semitone on the equally tempered (post-Bach) western scale increases by just 5.94%, or the twelfth root of 2 (as the frequency of each octave doubles over twelve keys).. so we're talking a BIG audible jump. Dissonant to say the least! Roth had no problem (as everyone can sing with relative pitch), but Eddie, CMON!! Have you been drinking again or are you just plain stupid? Back to rehab!!

that picture of the "South" football nerds is blowing my fucking mind. (did the person who coined "blow my mind" think of it as your mind getting a bj or your mind blowing up, like a bomb. I never thought of the bj thing before, it disturbs me, puts a strange image in my head.)
