Saturday Night

Come through! My Spidey sense tells me this is gonna be a good time. Mere blocks from me and Finny's new spot in Sunset Park, the Living Room Lounge is a very, very unique spot. It's huge, for one thing. 2500 sq ft, high ceilings, big-ass bar, exposed brick, vintage couches in the back. It's missing a halfpipe, but other than that, it looks like where the cool kids would hang out and have their bands play in the movie version of My So-Called Life. Plus there's an in-house tattoo parlor. And a stage. And all kinds of wild shit. (Read: they sell handcuffs at the bar for five bucks. For real.) It's like Southpaw's rambunctious little brother, and it's run by the woman who used to manage 13 Little Devils - aka where me and Jones opened for Spank Rock's New York debut back in 2005, for Roxy's legendary "Damaged Goods" party series. Naeem was up on the bar, XXXchange and Rockswell killed it in the booth with mad pedals that blew my young(er) mind, drummers rolled through heavy... it was cool. Memories!

But yeah, Saturday will be fun. Rut Roh & Soul Korea are my people, and good djs, and I know they'll play all kinds of fun soulful dancing-ass type of shit that you'll like. Last time I saw them, Soul K played some Teena Marie that I had never heard - and neither had P, Nash, Dusk, Dom, Bo, Emil, etc. It was dope. The dudes got gems, and I'm honored to help them kick off their party.

Brooklyn! Come through and let's do it. Best way to get there is to take the R or M to 25th Street, then walk over a block.
