1. I am going to reserve comment on Obama's speech for now, having only read the transcript and heard snippets. For more extensive response, both for and against, dive in. My initial impression is that it seems to have been an excellent speech - but to what end? Whether or not it will change anything - growing GOP attacks/poll numbers, the Obama/Clinton dynamic - is of course yet to be seen. Frankly, I doubt it. At the moment, I remain pessimistic and nervous about the Democrats' chances of taking the White House come November.

Anyone else find it weird that Meryl Streep's character in The Manchurian Candidate was partially modeled after Hilary Clinton, but in the original Sinatra/Cold War version her role was played by Angela Lansbury, and now Hilary kinda looks like Angela Lansbury & conceivably would be a dead ringer for her after a couple of 2 year terms?
