Quote of Yesterday
From yesterday's NY Times article on the new red steps outside the TKTS office in Times Square:
But on the steps, a peacefulness reigned. People made their way to the summit - 16 feet above the sidewalk - turned and, invariably and unselfconsciously, smiled. They said they felt both part of Times Square and separate from it, with the bonus of not being jostled along.
"The whole thing is like seeing Vegas on TV, but being there," said Charles Hunter, 49, who was visiting from Maine with his 18-year-old daughter, Caitlin, and their friend Ben Berwick, 23.
