Back (Monday PM)
Back from my trip up north.
1. Watching Mark McKinnon and Ross Douthat talk Palin on Hardball as I type. First time I've seen the actual video of her press conference, since I was blessedly off the grid all weekend. Jeeeeeeesus fuckin Christ, man. When word filtered through to me, I suddenly felt very far away from the tubes and kinda wished I could plug my brain into memeorandum for a good two hours worth of digital news-soak. By now you've perhaps read/watched all you can stand about ol' Sarah Palin, but if not, Mr. Sullivan is your one-stop shop. Start here.
2. Skull Swap is hi-quality internet and a necessary companion to He Who Cannot Be Named.
3. The dude who played Boss Hogg was a Buffalo native and seems to have been the striking opposite of the character he made famous. A counterintelligence officer during the Korean War? And he wasn't even really fat, dudes - it was a suit!
4. This shit is breathtakingly anti-Semitic, right? Goddamn. I saw this in a store this past weekend and couldn't believe it. Same store also stocked Hangin' Hussein Hot Sauce, Bomb Laden Mad Blast Hot Sauce (with novelty turban), Screaming Sphincter Cayenne Pepper Sauce and Bubba's Butt Blaster Hot Sauce. I guess once you get past Franks and the Anchor Bar, rednecks are running the hot sauce game. Damn.
5. Dave over at BfloBlog provides an excellent analysis of free agency thus far - seen through a Sabres fan's lens, of course. BfloBlog, even when quieted by the offseason, is a must-check for me.
