ONCE AGAIN
When the season ends too soon, this song gets played. Goddammit.
Thanks to Dom for the reminder -- and thanks to the army of orange-clad zombies at the Wells-Fargo Center last night for making me proud to support the blue and gold.

TEENAGE
I LOVED the Arthur Russell documentary Wild Combination so I was P S Y C H E D to hear that the director, Matt Wolf had a new film in the works.
It's called Teenage and it's based on the book Teenage: The Creation of Youth 1845-1945 by Jon Savage. Here's a teaser clip of the movie.

In conjunction with the movie making process, one of my blog favs Kelly Rakowski (http://nothing-is-new.com/) is posting images, audio, and film clips of youth culture, you can see it here.
All photos below are from the Teenage blog

(I wish more filmmakers did this, when Spike Jones was working on Where the Wild Things Are, his team blogged all the source material and research as they went along, it was so inspiring)

I always hear "Everybody! Pizza Party" So I'm just gonna believe that's what this song is about.
Also sampled for some 90s realness...
I like to imagine a montage of Real World season 01 to this.

Re: Games Two, Three, Sports Generally
Woody Allen's talking about the Knicks, not the Sabres or the Bills, but this makes all the sense in the world to me:
You see, life consists of giving yourself these problems that can be dealt with, so you don't have to face the problems that can't be dealt with. It's very meaningful to me, for instance, to see if the Knicks are going to get over some problem or another. These are matters you can get involved with, safely, and pleasurably, and the outcome doesn't hurt you.

DRUNK IN THE BLEACHERS
NEW MIX FOR MISHKA & THE CLINK ROOM!
To celebrate the arrival of the brand-new Mishka Cycotics, I mixed up a half-hour of premium grade jock jams. For maximum effect, I recommend pairing this mix with six stadium beers, a couple dogs, and a potent stack of nachos. Play at high volume, spill beer, yell real loud, dance like Dancin' Homer, and try to get yourself on the imaginary Jumbotron!

MISHKA & The Clink Room Present Drunk In the Bleachers by Caps
DRUNK IN THE BLEACHERS was inspired by the incredible team spirit exhibited by these drunken Philadelphia sports rioters following the Phillies '08 World Series championship:
